The Conference "Volunteerism – Avenue for Social Transformation" is an annual international forum aimed at forming effective cooperation and experience exchange among volunteers from different countries and at dissemination of successful social voluntary practices.

It is held in Perm, capital of the region with the same name, where volunteerism is developing actively. The Perm Region was the only region of the Russian Federation which announced year 2011 as the Year of Volunteerism (IYV+10). The Perm Center of Volunteerism Development has become a member of the European Volunteer Center in 2012.

The Perm Region took the initiative to conduct the International Conference "Volunteerism – Avenue for Social Transformation" at the United Nations Office at Geneva in June 2012.

The 2014 Session was devoted to the issues of influence of citizens’ volunteer activity on solving problems of local communities: drop of stress in society, international collaboration, amelioration of marginal social group, ecological safety, influence of voluntary activities on social and economic growth, role of volunteerism in paradigm of social development and others.

500 people: experts in the field of volunteerism development, representatives of NGOs, government bodies, centers for volunteerism — will take part in the event.

Working formats: plenary sessions, panel discussions, master-classes. Meetings with representatives of Perm City Administration.

ICVolunteers was represented at the conference by Nazir Sunderji, Senior Advisor, and Plenary speaker at the event. He spoke about MigraLingua, program that assists migrants through its community interpreters network.
