ICVolunteers Projects CalendarTEDxRC²Project at a glanceDates and Place27 November 2011, Geneva, SwitzerlandProject detailsTED is a nonprofit group devoted to “Ideas Worth Spreading”. It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three sectors: Technology, Entertainment, and Design. Since then they have broadened their scope to an immense variety of fields. It has become a truly global platform, bringing together the world’s most inspired doers and forward-thinkers to share their ideas. On the 27 of November 2011, from 16:00 to 18:00 the ICRC will proudly collaborate with TED to organize TEDxRC² in Geneva, Switzerland. TEDxRC² aims to multiply the power of humanity and start a global conversation about tomorrow's humanitarian challenges and opportunities. More than 500 guests, including international and Swiss diplomats, local officials, the heads of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, corporate and financial leaders, academics, journalists, health professionals, scientists, economists and TED fans will be invited to take part in a very special TEDx experience at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices in Geneva. The European Director of TED, Mr. Bruno GIUSSANI, will be the Master of Ceremonies. TEDxRC² will feature diverse and fascinating speakers from inside and outside the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and will webcast in real-time to the national societies of ICRC and IFRC, TED fans worldwide and any individual who is interested on this event around the globe. We kindly request our volunteers to join us in the TEDxRC². Our teams will assist the ICRC with the following tasks: • Simultaneous interpretation: This 2-hour event will be broadcasted live online.
