Volunteer Computing Study

01 June 2009

Since 2005, ICVolunteers has been involved in distributed computing projects. It is an official partner and co-organizer of the Africa@home project and has participated in the Asia@home workshop which took place in Taipei at the end of April 2009.In this context, ICVolunteers is conducting a study about volunteer computing and more specifically the motivations that drive volunteers to get involved in this kind of initiative.

Have you been involved in volunteer computing projects? Have you offered some of your resources to projects, whether CPU power, teaching and/or mentoring skills?

If this is the case, we would greatly appreciate your telling us a little bit about you and why you decided to participate in volunteer computing. Your responses, combined with others involved in the projects can help us understand more about making volunteer computing and future projects more effective.

Regarding confidentiality: we will treat in a confidential fashion any personal answers, contact details, etc., which serve solely the project and its evaluation and will not be used in any other way or communicated to third parties. If you provide us with your contact details, we will send you information about the results of the study.
